What is Manchester like?

Hi, I'm starting to look at unis, and am having a hard time narrowing down which unis I'm going to go to open days for - right now there's 12... Anyone at Manchester?
1) What type of people do you generally get at Manchester?
2) What are the performing arts societies like?
3) Is there a big booze culture?
4) What is accommodation like?
5) In self catered accommodation what are the kitchens like?
6) Anyone doing geography - opinions?
7) Anyone doing law - opinions?

1) You get a wide range of people, same as most places.
2) I can't really answer this as I haven't experienced any of them.
3) It's probably the same as most universities.
4) Have a look at the Accommodation FAQ for descriptions and pictures of the different halls.
5) It varies between halls. Again, take a look at the Accommodation FAQ.
6) Which Geography are you talking about? Manchester offers it as both a BA and BSc.
7) I don't do Law but Unistats says 90% of students are satisfied with the course, if that helps.
