I'll have you know Crouch is the only player I know to have scored a 'perfect' hat-trick.

Im not even being funny, that's impressive.
Hes also got one of the best minutes per goal ratio in the premiership, much better than Rooneys.

People can say what they want about him, but he is a proven goalscorer. And if Rooney had of scored Crouchs overhead kick this season, you wouldnt hear the end of it from the media.

    Anyway, back on topic...

Is it just me that thinks the Liverpool fans are trying to big Tevez up as they think they will sign him and dont want to look stupid like last summer after slating Dirk Kuyt?

7 goals since he has been started in his rightful position.

Rooney hardly sets the world on light with his tally.

Yes 23 goals for a left winger is crap wonder how many he would have got playing in his rightful position?

it's only fair to compare like for like competition wise, rooney has scored 14 premiership goals in 33 starts, and most of the season played as the main striker (if he's playing left wing then where's giggs playing, and who's striker?) fair enough when saha is playing he drops off, but then again kuyt has scored 12 premiership goals (in less games) and he plays every game in the hole.
everyone goes mental everytime rooney scores, probably because it's quite spectacular when he does to be fair but he just doesnt score regularly enough, and it annoys me how overrated he is ie "best player in the world" when he has done nothing to deserve that title yet

This season he has either playing as support to Saha, Giggs or Ronaldo up front, or coming from the wing with Smith supported by Giggs. Nobody mentions Rooney as the best player in the world. Everyone used to criticise him saying he isnt a 20 goal a season striker and he gets 23 often playing in unfamiliar positions. With Rooney, there will always be those that praise him and those who criticise his every move.
