Upgrading an existing Santander Account to a Student Account

I was just wondering how long it would take if I went into the branch an did it? Would they give me a new bank card and new bank details or would I be able to keep my existing information and get the benefits of a student account?

You'll keep your a/c number and sort code and may or may not receive a new card. I imagine if you're eligible they will be able to upgrade you within a couple of days.

With lloyds I walked in with a current account and walked out with a student account with the same card number, sort code and no card change. took them like 10 mins.

Be sure to bring your confirmation letter!!
