Why is work experience in a pharmaceutical company good for applying to medicine?

Questions says it all really. I know how its useful, I'm just stuck for wording and how it is specifically useful for medicine if anyone can help? I had work experience in GSK (Glaxo smith Kline) and i can see how it works for pharmacy but I'm stuck on how to relate it to med.

Heres what I can think of:
As a doctor you will be diagnosing patients and prescribing them medications. So its better to know what medication you are giving to a patient so you know whether its suitable to their condition and their health.
