Mathematics in Actuarial Science PhD Benefits?

First off, I have just finished my AS year - I just like to plan a little.

After a lot of google searches and talking to teachers I'm still pretty much clueless on the benefits of a Mathematics in Actuarial Science PhD.

I am fully aware of the exemptions available for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries examinations, after completing a Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences BSc. However after looking into the postgraduate PhD I can't seem to find exemptions or benefits of it, so I'm posting here.

Thanks to anyone who can help

I think you need to better understand the point, in general, of a PhD
