I thought it was about time to start a society for all of us here. There are many regular posters on the teaching forum and it would be nice to have a place to just chat and exchange ideas, etc. that do not necessarily require a new thread all the time.
So yeah, so.... *drumroll*...
Welcome to the one and only, the best, the
EDUCATION/TEACHING SOCIETY!!
Whatever the reasons you wanna join, please do. Students of Education Studies, student teachers, NQTs, or anyone else with an interest in education and teaching!
Yeah, I only do 2 days a week, but it was great! Yesterday I was so so tired!
If I'm like this after only part time work, after uni when I get a proper full time teaching job I will collapse!!!
I know how you feel. I was teaching yesterday, from 2pm until 7pm. I was dead tired afterwards, only to find out that from next week on I will teach 2-8!!! ;yikes;
Shocking! I do Wednesdays 8.30 - 3pm, and Fridays same time, although yesterday I had a meeting after school to sort out arrangements for a tour we're going on!
Hi guys, i have an informal interview/meeting thing with a headteacher of a local primary school on tuesday and i really want to get the opportuninty to do the work experience, so anyone got any ideas of how to impress her??
I think it might be a definate yes because out of all the primary schools i tried to contact, they were the first to call me in without asking me to write in and she also said i could have the opportunity to look around the school. But i'm not getting my hopes up!!
Also, do you think its a good idea to ask if i can take pictures of the classes i work with and the activities i do with the kids, to put into a portfolio to take with me on univeristy interviews??
Anyway, i'm sorry about all the questions, but i really want to get this placement.

Thank You xx
Sounds like they are very likely to offer you the placement. I did the same when I was in the UK and a school called me a few minutes after I sent them an e-mail. I was volunteering there a day later.
Anyway, I think you should just express your wish to study Primary Education and why you want to become a teacher. You should also let them know if you are flexible and what you would like to do (if they ask).
I would ask about pictures etc, once you know you can start there. It sounds like a good idea, but some schools may object to it.
Good luck for you anyway. You sound determined enough to get that placement
Germany
Cool, unfortunately, you will be on the other side of the country.
Shame! Saw pictures of it yesterday, looks really nice where we're going! Place we're staying is great, we'll rehearse in the Realschule and get to go to some lessons hopefully .
