Anyone who isn't into drinking and partying during Freshers?

Well someone is obviously in a delightful mood today.
I'm not going to argue with you over a thread as it's pathetic but I do believe that having similar interests to people can help build a friendship. Especially if you are already nervous about being in a different environment.

Well done you if that is not a problem for you but I am not that confident.

Well said.

I wouldn't mind getting together with some of you guys  It'd be pretty good to be honest, help me ease into Uni. Furthermore, for whoever it was that was being sarcastic about meeting people with different interests, I probably wouldn't enjoy speaking to them in a night club or of similar. I'd be fine anywhere else, I just dislike nightclubs etc. Anyway, It'd be nice to get together with you guys if possible in the first week, just socialise, whatever, I'm up for

Same here. Looking forward to meeting new people & experiencing new things. It's just that I've done the drinking & partying years ago & would rather talk to people to get to know them.
After working in a bar/nightclub for a year, drinking really doesn't appeal to me that much. For those commenting saying that it is unsociable to go out during these events, you are clearly ignorant to the fact that not everyone enjoys this kind or nightlife. I personally have an issue with not feeling safe when I am out and refuse to be belittled for my choices. So for those not wanting to go out and spend ridiculous amounts on alcohol, I suggest we organise a coffee morning or something.

I'd definitely be up for that. If be able to get to know people properly in a nicer environment. That is if you're okay with me being 18 haha seeing as you work/ed in a club so I'm guessing you're a few years older?
If you guys would actually enjoy to just hang out in anyway, how do you suppose we go about it? Seeing as we haven't met each other before :P

Like someone stated earlier, there are plenty of daytime events going on during freshers fortnight so I'm sure you'll find something that interests you! The coffee morning sounds like a good idea.

I am personally commuting to University so I can only attend a couple of the nights out because of limited public transport (which annoys me as I am a bit of a party animal! Lol ) but I'm intending to do as many daytime events as I possibly can.

I would love to!
We could swap numbers via the inbox and try and arrange something after the first day? We'll probably have a bit more of an idea where things are then ?
Unless people have other ideas xD and there is nothing wrong with being 18 . Interesting people are interesting people, no matter the age. x

Sounds good! Didn't even know there was an inbox service on here :P I just mentioned the age because you never know, some people only enjoy being with similar age group, which I'm fine with, but better to say than to hide  I don't know where the inbox section is on here so someone else might have to do it if others agree they'd like to to do this

Sorry, but since I'm new, do you mind telling me where the Atrium is? What about time window as well?

Haha I haven't a clue where the Atrium is either, we can get lost together

You enter the atrium as soon as you go through the main entrance. You, ll see a big open area surrounded by shops & a cafe etc. We can agree a time later.

Oh yeah I've been there on open day, had no idea it was the atrium :P no problem, about the time as well

Ahh I didn't go to an open day, big open space with shops sounds easy enough to find though
I'm very glad that this post exists and that there are other people in the same boat as me, as going out isn't my thing at all, I'm not an overly confident person. I had no idea that there are daytime events too so I'm happy that I stumbled across this!

I felt the same . The nights out all seemed a bit too scary for me haha.
Anyway, I'm going to be without internet until I move into my shared house so hopefully I will see all of you lovely people sometime next week
