Mechanical engineering at Southampton: GCSE emphasis?

I really want to put southampton as one my choices however due to the high competition I want to know how much emphasis is placed upon GCSE in comparison to AS results/A2 predictions and also the personal statement/ reference. (My personal statement is heavy in what I have done to explore engineering.)

I have no idea, but the only GCSE the university requires for engineering courses is a C in English.

If you're predicted AAB or higher, you're guaranteed to receive an offer of A*AA to study at the university
