It's cause the question was based on an AS question. If you never learnt/read about what ferrate was, it makes that question significantly harder. That's what I got from the examiners comment's anyway.

i know all the fundamentals, then when they ask question liike 'suggest a 2 step mechanism for this reaction' etc i dont know what to do
Think about the potential products that could be formed for your 1st step then use those in the next to make the overall products, don't worry as there are normally a few alternatives so there's a good chance you've come up with one of those
I did revision on these paper when I did the topic which was like 3 months ago, so I haven't done many past papers for f325 in long. I did almost all papers though, which include the older papers. I defo know 2 q came up on ferrate, though. As I got them wrong both times.
