Just wondering how we get our aston e-mail addresses i.e. [email protected]?

You get it on your induction and it's the first 5 letters of your surname and then your initials @aston.ac.uk

is there a website where we go to check our emails, (like hotmail) or is it like outlook. and do we get an email addy even if were staying in private halls like the heights

You can get to your email either through the Uni's main website or just the address http://webmail.aston.ac.uk

Your email address will be allocated to you regardless of where you are staying because it will be along with Blackboard the way the university will communicate with you throughout your stay at uni.
