Pbl

couldnt find any threads on this.....

i know what it is and ive read tons of pages about it but how do you really know its for you ...

i would really like feedback from current students on this type of learning:
(i) was it what u expected
(ii) do you lose motivation because you do so much independent learning

any advice welcome:smile:

(i) Yes
(ii) No - you get more motivated (although this is totally person dependent)

is all the learning done indepently or are there still some lectures

I think it depends on the course. We're [BL] always cited as 'PBL' heavy, but the reality is that PBL makes up less than 1/3 of our preclin contact hours...

I think Manchester is supposed to be a lot more PBL heavy - Daveo will tell you more on that score.

At manc there are 5/6 hours of lectures, 2+ microbiology and statistics, 2/3 of anatomy (dissection and small tutorials) and 2/3 of lab work in addition to the 3hrs of pbl

edit: that's preclin btw
