Personal Statement Question - UCAS, Vet med & 5th Choice related

Hi, I know this is unlikely/a very specialised scenario, but I was wondering if anybody had been through anything similar/knew any useful information:

Basically, I'm aware that for UCAS applications I get 5 course choices, but I'm only allowed to use vet medicine for four of my choices max. Therefore, I've prepped, written and readied my vet personal statement. HOWEVER, for my 5th choice, if I'm completely rejected from vet med (not sure if I'll have the work experience like some other people do, etc), my next natural strength lies in English Literature. Now, I know that most people take something like biovet sciences as a 5th, but I'm not too sure about this course, as I would DEFINITELY love to become a vet (more than I want to study English), but if I don't then English is where my next natural strength lies. There are also other factors that come into making this my next plausible move such as English unis closer to home, etc.

ANYWAY, what I want to know is what do I do as I only get ONE PERSONAL STATEMENT FOR ALL CHOICES? Someone at an open day said another course subject may ask me for another/additional personal statement for their subject so to have one ready, but how does this work?

Super confused :s-smilie: HELP!!!

I would imagine that a personal statement for vet med would look very different to one required for English. What have school or college said to do?. I am so sorry that your thread seems to have got lost.
Hi there,

If you want to get into vet med you need to create a vetty PS or else you will be more certain to be rejected.

When you apply to your 5th choice the uni may or may not email you to ask for an English PS (happened to me when I applied for Cell Biology). Alternatively if it's a competitive uni they may reject you for not being dedicated enough to English because they'll know its your 5th choice.
