Hey. Freshers starts Monday 21st September and goes on for two weeks until Monday 5th October. :-)

Really? So why is it that we get to move in from the 16th? I thought that the courses actually started on Monday 21st. This is so confusing! :s-smilie:

Has anyone got offers for genetics yet?

Can I ask what your GCSEs/ AS results were? I'm going into year 12 and quite like the look of genetics and Cardiff- you'd be helping me out! Hope you got the offer haha

You move in 16th-20th. And freshers starts 20/21st to 27th. During freshers you go to freshers fair, enrolment and introductory classes. And it also allows you to get used to uni life, get used to Cardiff and meet lots of people and your flatmates. :-)

Some external (not Cardiff student union) companies sell freshers wristbands which last for two weeks (21st-4th October). The official Cardiff su wristband is normally only one week long (21st-27th) because the 28th is when actual classes start. But they might release a two week one this year (21st-4th), I don't know because they haven't been released yet. Hope this helps :-)

My gcses were 4A*s, 7As, 1B, distinction in additional maths (you don't need them that high). And I did AS welsh early and got a C

My AS results were A in Biol, B in maths and drama, and C in chemistry. I was also half way through welsh bacc which Ill get a grade fr this summer.

My offers AAB to include A in biol and the other grades from any other subject (I dropped drama after AS). Some people get an AAA offer but I did loads with cardiff uni and come from a state school in a poor area so got AAB. If you've never been to cardiff uni and live in a well off area or go to public school expect AAA.
Cardiff had my results a few weeks ago (they emailed me to say they'd had them), I've met all of the conditions they gave me but they haven't confirmed my place or anything. Anyone know why this is? Do I have to wait until results day? :s-smilie:

What does it say when you log into track on UCAS?

I didn't receive any emails or anything confirming my place, however when I logged into UCAS they had confirmed it and I was able to print off my confirmation letter etc.

UCAS has had my results and my insurance (UWE) has made my offer unconditional, but my firm and insurance both had the same conditions and my firm choice (cardiff) has stayed at conditional and hasn't changed. Is it worth phoning them on monday and finding out or should I just wait until results day? I know someone who's doing the same course this September and did the same course as me in college and the same has happened to him, but it's just a bit worrying

Definitely not- everyone who did their A Levels this year is waiting for results and then hall allocation if they meet their offer from those results/remarks

Hello, anyone waiting for confirmation to study History at Cardiff? Also, anyone else LOVE socialising / drinking / music but HATES grubby nightclubs? I am concerned how this passionate hate of mine is going to serve me during freshers' week...
