Improvising during freshers week

Has anyone not bought tickets for events yet? I'll be going to a London uni and from the various facebook groups, loads of people haven't bought tickets yet. They're just waiting until they get there.

Is there any disadvantage to doing this because personall I don't find most of the club events that appealing. I'll go if people in my flat are going (nobody from my halls has spkoken yet about events) but I'd much rather just see what's on when I get there.

Opinions?

Many events still have tickets on the day, as well as a ton of people selling them who decide not to go.
Wait till the day and what others are doing. Then you can get tickets etc.
Most of the time it's just the events people scaremongering it's the biggest event ever and will be sold out. (Hint: 99% untrue)

Usually best to wait because what happens is half the flat have tickets for one thing, and then they're sold out and the rest can't go with etc.
