Small village forced to raise taxes to pay benefits for ONE immigrant family.

A small village in Switzerland is being forced to to raise taxes by 5% to cover the benefits of one African family, who cost the local authorities $64,000 euros a month in benefits. Thats 30% of the of the monthly expenses for the entire village.

This story is beyond parody, and it would be almost comical if it was a one off. But, this drain on the public services is happening all over Europe.

Unregulated 'immigration' is wrecking the welfare state.

Which is an argument for a national welfare state rather than a localised one. This system sounds no different to going begging to the parish under the poor laws.

Who cares? It's the Swiss.

They can just open up their vaults and dig out some Nazi gelt and use that to pay for it.

National or local, this family would still be a massive drain and burden on the system.

64,000 euros a month?

Sounds liek they need a benefits cap...

:s-smilie:
Well if they've devolved taxes to a village then I'm sure they can reverse this.

How the **** does any welfare cost 64,000 euros a month? It should be well under half that for a year.

Because they also have to foot the bill for keeping 4 of her children in the care system

True :P

Its also a bit confusing why they'd be paying in euros rather than swiss francs...
They are not African refugees. They are Swiss citizens.

That's still a ridiculous cost. Why are they on benefits if they're immigrants? They should've moved there because of a job.

It is but it's a small town and they have to pay the costs for the care (it's not a central system)

but yes she should be made to get a job and pay for herself and her children

So they receive €64,000 but they don't receive child benefit because their children are in care? Crikey

How is posting this up 'Daily Mail'??
Dumb ass question but is her family some sort of special case? It seems obscure she and her many children can move to this small town and cause a dramatic impact due to the state support she then needs, what exactly has given her the right to be a refugee here when one assumes many thousands of families from where she originated are just as deprived and would love to live in a Western nation being given more money than they could ever imagine and not having to lift a finger for it, a slap in the face to the local working class population.
a month? A MONTH?

- cap
- education for

teaching them how to handle finances
teaching them about birth control
