Neuroscience or Psychology courses

Hi guys!

I'm looking for university courses to study either Psych or Neuroscience in 2015.

I'm hoping to get AAB/ABB overall, but will definitely need some good insurance courses!

If anyone knows of any uni's offering these courses I'd really appreciate some advice!

I would suggest Bristol neuroscience, I think the offers are around AAB, but the department does world-class research.

Do you learn about the biochemistry of the brain? Or more the psychological side? Or both

I think they learn both, in first year they have the option of taking open units in psychology :smile:

Base your decision on what the course will teach you :smile:

have a read up on the options you have when you're actually on the course and see what excites you most. But keep your mind open if some things look a bit meh and you never know what you'll enjoy once you're there!

St Andrews get you to take 3 subjects in first year and neuroscience students take Psychology + Biology + one other of their choice. That would be a good option so that you could sample both psychology and neuroscience before choosing one by third year to actually specialise in :smile:

I'd also consider Cardiff - they've got Biomedical Sciences (Neurosciences) and Psychology. In Neurosciences, they're among the best in the UK with a PhD programme funded by the Welcome Trust, and are heavily investing in this area with a University Research Institute and a few dedicated research facilities.

And the city is great.

That was originally one of my choices, but they require Chemistry at A Level which I don't have unfortunately :frown:

Hey, I'm planning on studying Neuroscience too!
Queen Mary University in London will begin having the course Neuroscience
for the year 2015, so our year. I'd check out their website for more information, I think the grade requirements are ABB, and it's a decent university too :smile:
