Housing for a graduate?

I graduated in the summer but haven't found a job. I don't much fancy living at home, so I'd like to live up by Uni. I'm not sure where to look, but I just need to rent a room. Does anyone know where I might find one? I'd also need to be able to give notice in case I found a job elsewhere in the country...
