Expect a long wait. I contacted admissions yesterday and was told to wait 'another few weeks'. They claimed that my application was with the 'department' but I'm really starting to question the admissions department's honesty and credibility. This is probably enough to discourage any one from applying or even wanting to enrol at SOAS.

I know how frustrating it can be, but you have to consider that it's really subjective. I received my offer from SOAS in less than a month, while I've been waiting for Edinburgh and King's since Middle October (please note that they originally said I should get back in six weeks. It's been eighteen). In my opinion, it has nothing to do with the university prestige/reputation/excellence in general.

Hold on, it's almost over

I contacted the admissions team yesterday and hope this helps you guys out:

"Dear Abdullah,

Thank you for your email.

According to our records we received your application on 13 January 2015.

We are currently processing applications as quickly as possible and in the order that we receive them. It may however be another month or so before you receive a decision from us.

Apologies for this delay but please bear with us at this busy time.

Kind regards,
UG Admissions"

^I don't mind the delay but the thought of waiting so long to end up being unsuccessful is unbearable !

Did everyone(who is yet to receive a response) get a 'newsletter' from SOAS or is it just me?
Has anyone else got an email inviting you to an interview? It doesn't look like they've given me an offer yet also so it looks like it depends on the interview....

Nope. Nothing other than a confirmation email for my application way back in November.

SOAS admin is notoriously slow. They'll get back to you eventually, don't worry.
