English Literature first year student - what is it like?

Hi!

I am going to be a first year student and I am completely honest I am terrified! I am not sure what to expect. I am a hard worker but get easily intimidated in class, especially in class discussions and believe I don't have any good ideas to contribute. I love literature but I don't know if it comes natural to me as others. I don't know how to feel about the upcoming year and I am starting very soon. I was wondering if any current Eng lit students could give me some advice or pointers on either how to prepare for the next three years? Or even just let me know what it is like?

First things first: Which uni? Courses can differ a lot between universities. :smile:
