GCSE History Controlled Assessment Help Please

Hi, I am doing a controlled assessment in GCSE History on the Port of Preston. We will have 40 marks available over two questions, 20 marks for each.
The first question is likely involve the development of the port and its relation to the Industrial Revolution and the second question is likely to involve the reason for the Port's closure.
I was just curious do any of you guys have an idea on what gains the most marks in these Controlled Assessment's and also if you know what the structure should be like for the two questions.
Both of the questions should be around 1000-2000 words.
