Biology A2 Coursework Edexcel

Hello, I'm doing my A2 Coursework in Biology at the moment on the topic if pondweed (Lemna Minor) does reduce the nitrate-level in water. Therefore i would like to ask if anybody has done a similar topic like me and could give me any advice? I'm a little bit confused which would be a good way to measure the level of nitrate in the water, as it needs to be an easy and not very costly method.
