What is so wrong in today's society with being a 'slut'?

In a way following on from my last thread, but mainly just a general question. It seems okay that men can 'sleep around' but women get labelled. I have experienced (through a friend) a situation where two intimate pictures got spread around school. One of this girl and one of her boyfriend. The response to the picture of the girl was horrific and she left. Nobody cared about the picture of the boy - after a couple of days everyone had forgotten and if anything he had been congratulated for getting the girl to be such a slut for him. I don't know whether this is a more common problem in schools than in society but I think that it is wrong. Why should women have to act in a pure, innocent way when men can do as they please?

Live and let live. If you want to sleep around, do it. As long as you're safe and not cheating, then what's the issue.

Ask women.

Women do most of the slut shaming, it's just that men get the blame for it.

I never targeted men in my question-I was stressing that men are looked at differently to women. Stop being so defensive of men I haven't criticised them, just stated a situation.

How does a girl having sex with her boyfriend make her a slut...

I'm talking about women who 'sleep around' etc. and in the situation I stated it was a picture which got spread around school.

I don't disagree with you it's just the way women are perceived doing it. Maybe it doesn't apply as much outside school but I know where I go to school this is very much the attitude.

Women are by far the biggest slut shamers, it's all to do with sluts lowering the ''price'' for sex.

I apologise.

It's hard being a bloke in the modern world where everything is implied to be your fault. Sometimes it gets the better of me.

I agree with you and from living my life around amazing men who would never do anything sexist or wrong in any way I think a few men who do these things spoil it for everybody else.
i actually agree that a key that unlocks many doors is a good key and a door that is unlocked by many keys is a **** door.

sorry pc's.
My friend's analogy:

A lock that is opened by all keys is a rubbish lock.
A key that opens all locks is called a master key.

I guess it's just a social perception that will take a long time to go away, if at all. *sigh*

Edit: Posted exactly the same thing practically as post ^^^^^. Wow, great minds think alike... :colone: Haha.

Women don't have to act in that way.

But if they do they should be prepared for the reactions of others, which are seldom accepting.

Some men shame women for enjoying sex simply because it's what they are taught
Some women slut shame because they know sex is the #1 objective for most men, so when a woman gives it out to easily, she is inadvertently stealing partners and potential husbands from the more reserved women.

Women are conditioned to believe that their value is measured in sex and looks from a young age. It's a shame.
Whoever out the video on is bugging the chat and it won't let me scroll past it without crashing?would you mind deleting it?
The concept only exists amongst immature school kids. Once you get to uni you can sleep with whoever you like, whenever you like, and no-one gives a flying ****.

Basing your judgement of procreative morality upon coincidental topological similarities between genital apparatus and everyday security mechanisms is probably the single stupidest thing you could ever do.

So, congratulations.

Hey, I know you're trying to sound smart, but this clearly isn't about "procreative" sex.

Besides, the analogy could refer to things beyond the physiological differences between men and women, nurtured or otherwise.

In the analogy, who is the key and who is the lock? Remind me.
There's Nothing wrong with it.

As long as its with consenting partners, not cheating and suitable precautions have been taken, there isn't a problem at all.
