Preferred A-Levels

Hello,

I'm looking to apply to uni for entry in 2015 but I've been a little confused by the concept of 'Preferred A-Levels'. Essentially, I'd like to apply to study Korean at SOAS as my first choice, however I don't study a language at A-Level. So, what I want to know if I should still bother applying to study there, as it's not technically listed as a requirement, rather a preference but is that just a different way of putting it that they won't consider applicants who haven't studied a language?

Help would be appreciated!
If its a preference, they're much more likely to pick applicants who have a language over you so its a big risk imo

Hi, I'm also looking to apply for Korean at SOAS next year and during a talk at the open day I went to, they said that although they prefer a language A-Level you still have a decent chance of getting in if you meet the grade requirements and have a good personal statement regardless of that.
I don't do a language A-Level either but I still think it's worth applying!
