Girls, do you take about masturbating with your friends?

I do it, as most girls do, but I've never spoken about it with anyone, aside from boyfriends! Boys on the other hand talk about it all the time, and even on tv/ media, masturbation is always the preserve of men: it's ****ing, fapping, jacking off, jerking off etc. and its always talked about as if women don't masturbate.

Sooo, do you talk about it with your friends? And if not, why not?

Some context, I read recently that masturbation is an important step for having better sex, because you get to know what you want and love your body, and surviving rape, for similar reasons, you're reclaiming your body and owning your vagina again.

So pray to tell!

I don't talk about it either, I don't know, it just seems embarrassing to talk about with them...
It's really odd, I know girls who'll happily talk about their sex life in any detail, but as soon as you mention masturbation they go all red and quiet.
I don't masturbate but if any of my friends do, they don't discuss it.
I don't masturbate and I'm pretty sure none of my friends do either, we talk about it in general but not about us specifically

It's also a falicsy that guys discuss this all the while..
There was ONE guy in my year who didn't masturbate, and everyone made fun of him for it. Funny how there are a variety of insults such as 'w*nker', 'jerk' (presume so anyway), 'jerk-off' etc., but in actually you end up being ridiculed if you're a male and DON'T masturbate.

On topic though, I think there's some kind of residual societal pressure from Victorian times for women not to admit to being inherently sexual, but I do think that's changing. Also with males, I kind of think of ejaculation as a bodily function...and guys are more likely to talk about bodily functions in general than females . Girls tend to value privacy more I guess?

Interestingly (disclaimer- may not be interesting for everyone), Victorians were absolutely obsessed with stopping boys from masturbating (they probably didn't even imagine girls doing it). Things like football were specifically promoted in private schools to prevent the boys from "self abuse".
Yeah I talk about it with both guy and girl friends. Its not something that comes up often in conversations but if it does, I'm happy to say my part.

Those crazy Victorians! Football has its place but can't beat a good old bit of beating off on a Sunday afternoon

Another thing you might find interesting is the male circumcision culture that is present in the United States also stems from (for a large part at least) the desire to stop boys from masturbating, because circumcision was supposed to make masturbation 'harder' (hehehe).

Oh, yeah, the Yanks were even worse. The guy who invented Kelloggs is the worst-

He wanted to put cages around teenager's genitals. And he stuck yougurt up his arse.
Talk about it loads with my guy and girl friends.
It's quite normal for me to be like "Had SUCH a great **** sesh last night guys."

Wait, are you telling me it's unusual to try and cage teenagers' genitals and stick yoghurt in your ass????
Not at all! It's the most awkward and embarrassing topic to speak about. It is also frowned upon. At my old school you'd get picked on if others found out.

I'm definitely going to assume Strawberry is answering Wahrheit's question...
Am I the only guy who doesn't talk about masturbation with friends? It just seems like a very awkward topic, and one I don't care for. Sure if someone asks, I'll tell them I do since it's normal, but to have an actual conversation about it? :lolwut:

Yep, my friends have actual 20 minute conversations about it. I tend not to get particularly involved in these conversations because really I did not want to know that you "spuffed all over your chest" or anything along those lines.

You make it sound like guys meet up to discuss their latest ****. I would talk about it if it was the topic of conversation, but I'd hold back somewhat; the porn I've ****ed to isn't for the faint-hearted. Also it'd make me sound like a right weirdo.
