IBM - Application Specialist application

Hello!

Could someone help me with this please? I am a finance student, but I am trying to switch towards the IT field.

I noticed that for the IBM application specialist graduate any degree is accepted. Could you please tell me more about this job? I tried to search what an application specialist at IBM does, but all I could find was very broad and general.

I have some basic programming knowledge as I did C++ in school and then took a Java elective during uni.

That title does sound fairly vague. Could you link to where you found the description and it might be possible to explain further what it refers to.
