Placements after maths degree

I have noticed that the universities I am applying to don't offer Math courses with a placement year, I was just wondering if anyone who is doing a mathematics course has been offered a placement year even though they didn't apply for one

I'm doing the MMath and I was told that you can do a placement year if you switch to the BSc and then do the placement year, then switch back onto the MMath. Your degree title won't say that you have done a placement year, but it will still be on your transcript.

This is only at my uni though, so I'm not sure if it's the same across the board!
