Confused about UCAS points

So this -> http://www.ucas.com/how-it-all-works/explore-your-options/entry-requirements/tariff-tables

says that an A level with additional AS (9 units) A*A = 200 points. Does that mean if you did the subject both at as and a level and got A at as and A* at A level you would get that many points?

I'm a bit confused my teachers are telling me different to what UCAS says...
