Applying for Masters in the USA

Hi, I'm a second year physics student at Durham. Enrolled on a 4 year masters, but likely to transfer to a bsc programme later this year. I want to go to grad school in the US.

The problems is I'm completely lost looking for advice on how to go about it, i.e. the procedure, funding, how to apply, will my degree be acceptable etc etc.

Does anyone out there have any advice for me? Especially folks who've been to Durham , is there anyone here that I can talk to about this to get more information? Or if anyone from the UK , Durham or elsewhere, has gone to the US recently any advice you have would be massively appreciated.
