Not a virgin by choice and getting annoyed about it.
I don't believe a woman would want to sleep with me, plus i have a lot of shame about sex so that's kind of why i want to express my sexuality.

I would say it's not common. Or at least, not as descriptive. Like I said though, depends how horny the subject is.
About this "virgin" thing, labelling - a man in particular - a virgin doesn't even make sense. "Virgin" is a word that is actually supposed to be applied to a woman, since there is a physically observable difference between a woman who's had sex and one who hasn't (the latter still has her hymen).
But this doesn't apply to men. You are not saying anything by calling a man a "virgin" apart from that he hasn't engaged in some activity. We don't have names for people who haven't eaten good pizza, or rode the London Eye, or read the entire works of Dostoyevsky. So why have a name for someone who hasn't engaged in sex? Sex is simply another recreational activity, you can either do it or not. I've never done it, and I don't see myself doing it any time soon simply because I don't care enough to get it. You can choose to believe that or not. But the whole obsession over this abstract concept of "virginity" just seems silly.

I think that is a bit unusual, even though you're a girl I'd have expected you to stare at certain hot guys, though I appreciate hotness would be more about perceived status than individual body parts.
By the way it's not easy for guys to get laid at all. The odds feel stacked against you in the same way as they do when applying for jobs with no experience. There is no way of discerning beforehand whether a woman might be receptive to your advances or not, and yet when you get it wrong it's always your fault.

I look at people and think, 'hmm that guy/girl is pretty, attractive etc' but never in such a sexual way as described in the OP. Just in an appreciating something that looks nice way

what's changed since you were 16 then. That's what happens after you hit puberty. Get laid, have a **** or two and your urges will mellow down.
When you get older or less fit/healthy you also have less of such urges, further more cuz you've been around and it ain't something new.
