how to get into biophysics?

I'm currently a Biology undergrad, but I've found myself less interested in life sciences and more interested in biophysics. Because biophysics is a relatively new discipline there aren't many UK unis offering biophysics to undergrads, there are some phd programs, but most of the biophysics study seems to go on in America. Anyway my question is how can someone with a life sciences background get into biophysics? Surely if I apply for a molecular biophysics phd with a Biology of degree I won't be taken seriously?
