Student finance and earning a lot of money???

I'm repeating my first year, on the same course but at a different uni. So I already owe 12k for failing my first year. I was thinking about escorting or stripping to fund my way through uni and I also want to start saving money for my future. So, how will this effect my student loans/grants in the next 3 years?

Cash in hand = no problem
If you're considering doing it full time then you have to declare your income and pay tax. If not you could get found out and be fined/prison/repay what you owe.

And therefore by having to declare your income you student finance will be affected only of you make over a certain amount a year which I doubt you will make loads-that's a lot of sex/stripping.

Also be aware of the dangers- keep yourself safe.

Escorting is technically legal before anyone says anything.

I'd urge you to get a normal job but it's your choice.

If your loan/grant is calculated based on your parents' income then I don't think it'll affect it at all.

I do think you need to research escorting and stripping (not remotely similar btw) a bit more.

Odd conclusion to jump to. The two are often mentioned together despite being different, in the way that someone might say "I was thinking of picking up a trade; like plumbing or electrician".

OP could well have done plenty of research. Her question related to the student finances. I'm sure if she wanted more information about the practical and moral implications of the role she can create a new thread for that. Lets not patronise by jumping to conclusions.
first it's a couple of years out of date so income this year wouldn't affect your finance for a couple of years. Then you have to declare your taxable income so I guess if you don't earn enough to pay tax you are OK. So stick below the tax limit, £9440 this year, and I think you are OK. You can always ask SF.

Misconception you still need to tell the authorities even if you are below the tax threshold. If you are self employed you will still pay NI.

actually she wouldn't need to tell student finance anything - see section 8 (this is if in England) http://www.sfengland.slc.co.uk/media/682916/sfe_pn1_notes_1415_d.pdf

what she needs to tell other authorities was not part of the question
