Regarding your career options MANY engineers go onto finance related roles or consultancy. In terms of drop rates, most people just continue doing their MEng to reduce costs. But the option is always there for you to do an MSc which would interest you more than continuing past your BEng.

what's your definition of many? because as far as I know not a lot of engineers go into finance I would probably say only 30% or less do.
Mostly not finance...
