Bad driving lesson after a week.

Last Tuesday I had such a good lesson, like I was at test standard, and I've done 22 hours so far.

Today was bad. I was so rusty and kept forgetting a lot of little things. It's like I was on the main road for the first time.

I'm just venting here, I can only hope it doesn't happen again.

I need to stay consistent and remember everything. How do you manage that if you're doing one lesson a week?

Do you have access to a car at home to practice in between lessons?

Hmm, I've found that it goes up and down, so don't worry about it too much. :hugs: I'll have some weeks where I can just drive the car like a pro, and other weeks where it's like I'm an absolute beginner again.

You will get there, don't get discouraged.

Sloppy mistakes. Clutch too fast/high when moving off. Awkward lane positions. Went in the wrong lane on a roundabout. Just overall clumsy driving.
It'll get better with experience, mistakes will iron out and become less frequent.

As a driver for over 7 years i would actively preach that some days i will have brilliant drives but occssionally its like i am an absolute novice; i cant explain why. I have mentioned this to other drivers and they have all agreed. I would just say do not be disheartened and try not to over think!
I also had that bad lesson when I was on my 20th hour and it put my confidence down a lot, but next lesson I did so well that my instructor told me to book a test.

It happens, just learn from it and move on, be more confident next lesson.

Most important tip is to take your time and don't rush. If you take your time, lots of stupid mistakes go away.
