OCR MEI FP1 Complex numbers - sketching a set with division in the modulus brackets.

Hi,

Can anyone quickly help me with this problem?

I just need to know how to deal with the divisions inside the modulus brackets in order to sketch the region on an Argand diagram.

Q19 and Q20.

Forget the inequality for the moment. Consider the equality.
Mod(z-3) = mod (z+2j)
ie the distance of z from 3 is the distance of z from -2j
A straight line - you decide which

In q 20 do the same thing. The 2 gives a different locus (hint - do you play rugby?)

In both cases decide which side of the locus you want.

I don't play rugby, but I'll find out if I got it right from your method in a few weeks :L Thanks.

I am sorry I read your post too quickly and I pointed out questions that were relating to the start of your sheet rather what you asked. I hope you found in the sheets I pointed similar questions to the ones you were after.

[P.S. the site is great it's just slow to download because the files are very large.]
