Hi I am in year 11 and I am deciding what alevels.
I want to do maths but i am not sure on whether to chose
A-level statistics or mechanics

Which one is better?

what other subjects are you taking? Stats or mechanics may help these

If you're doing Physics take Mechanics. If not, take Statistics. Statistics will help a little with Biology but Mechanics will help loads with Physics!

ok so nothing like physics which mechanics would be nice for. Stats is more wordy and you use more big formulae without needing to understand what goes into it. Mechanics is probably harder and may need more imagination. Economics and stats may loosely tie in. Do you have any idea of what you'd like to do after a level?

Hey Dushara hahaha,

Umm, Mr Kochhar suggests taking statistics because he said Mechanics is very physics based as others said.

(It's also a little easier haha)

Basically...stats is boring, mechanics is hard. Mechanics is good for physics, stats is good for things like sociology, economics.

I found stats painfully boring, but did both mechanics and stats. If you're not amazingly good at physics and find it boring then don't do mechanics.

I'm not an A level student.

To be honest, decision module is the best. Or maybe I am just biased - I enjoy computing as well.
