Anyway, the answer to number 5 is no ....

5'9" isn't that short. I'm male and 18 and only 5'7" - maybe not even that. But yeah, it would be nice to be taller

In answer to the questions - no idea  But I doubt growth stops at 18. Better not do anyway!

4) Are they any other ways to grow taller e.g. steroids and are they legal and do they work?

Steroids dont make you grow taller but larger and then you have to worry about addictions or mood swings

3) No
4) Yes, doctors can do some operation where they pull all your limb bones out of joint and then put them back in again
5) No

I'm 19 in Nov and I'm only 5'10". Can't see anything wrong with it IMO

Orthopaedic specialists used to recommend that children avoid weight training because the growth plates on their bones might be at risk, but recent studies have shown that this concern is unfounded. The very rare reports of growth plate fractures in children who trained with weights occurred as a result of inadequate supervision, improper form or excess weight. "Growth plate injuries have not occurred in any youth strength training study that followed established training guidelines."[16] The National Strength and Conditioning Association also confirms that "a properly designed and supervised resistance training programme is safe for children." [17]

Young children must be supervised around weight training equipment. Like adults, they may be injured if a weight is dropped, or if they perform an exercise incorrectly. Children may also forget to follow the safety guidelines, or be tempted to act irresponsibly.

I've highlighted some important bits.

Don't grow taller, just hang out with loads of really short people....

A lot less painful in the long run!

5"9' isn't that short. It's pretty much average.

I think you stop growing at the age of 21 as someone already said.

However, I would like some confirmation on that please...

I think its different for everyone ... i cant imagine everyone keeps growing until they are 21 and then they just stop. Some people probably stop at 18, some 19 etc etc.

You can get your wrist x-rayed and then they cant roughly estimate how much longer you have to grow (they give you a year and then its +/- 6 months or something). I had it done and apparently i will grow until im 21. If everyone grow up until that age then i dont think they would have paid for me to have the x-ray, they would have just said its 21 ...

I think your right, in that its a very individual thing.

I believe it is around that age the most people stop growing. I believe that it is a hormone that is released which sends a signal to growth plates around the body, or something to do with growth flates fusing etc. Then again, I could be wrong, I am going by very old science knowledge...

I swear I stopped growing at 15!!! Anyway I really wouldn't worry about it cos 5,9's an average height for a man and think of it this way, you'll still be way taller than 95% of girls!!

I'm 5'10 and I'm well tall...

I have no idea why you are so concerned with your height...

You're tall enough already mate...

4) Are they any other ways to grow taller e.g. steroids and are they legal and do they work?

I think 5'9 is a perfect height.

However, do bear in mind that you're probably still growing. The 1st years I've seen around uni are teeny compared to 3rd years!
