Wasn't aimed at you at all, in fact I didn't even see your post.

My point isn't that we shouldn't be posting these things (I often do so myself, it's perfectly legitimate). My point is more that anyone assuming that's a solution to their issues (smash bandicoot does this I think) is mistaken.

I've had severe depression and it is really hard to motivate yourself to do anything. I just don't see that as an excuse not to do it (and again I must stress I used it as am excuse in the past) because that isn't productive to the cause.

It's again fair, I believe I' am a bit lazy atm, certainly have been over summer. I've been relapsing since summer 2013 on-off, in the most significant aspect of breaking addiction at least. The trigger for which I do not know, but that came before my relationship went downhill. Would not be surprised if it was this fabled Manosphere I harp on about
I hate when people argue/have confrontations on here :frown:

I remember reading about your break up and it did sound very hard/testing. I don't think it's your addiction to this forum that's a problem unless it stops you from doing what you need to each day, but maybe just a change in how you use it is needed

nah man I'm on the Internet all day. Would not be posting so many non-issues if I was out in the real world again more

This has been since 2011 a tool for a few things

a) The way I socialised and got a taste of uni life as a home student-partly backfired (hence Riku)

b) mental health issues

c) relationship difficulties

d) Mass procrastination

e) General knowledge, current affairs, debate etc.

d) is the major problem. Apparently a) gave me an immature view of things. b) I have support for c) I need ongoing counselling for hence Relate.

Redpill has destroyed me but I am in a very 'blue pill' mentality so that's not surprising. There's a middle ground as you suggest which is something like stoic.

Really it's d). Not doing enough of hobbies! Too much computer! Probably why I seem to be moaning a lot

Really debating 3rd account, shame I'm thought of mostly as a troll yet again.

edit: I should add. I would not have been as wound up about 'Superman' if I had the gym/cake OCD under control, and TSR addiction. Redpill and Manosphere exaggerated the results of that, I do believe my ex treated me a bit ****ty but she's not a bad person, I was definitely running paranoid. She was also in an possible situation with culture/religion.

As a side-note tomorrow it will be 1 year since 'the birthday party' :frown:

Tbh I'm not sure there would be much point in a third account, if you're likely to post the same types of threads again? You're instantly recognisable from the way/what you post, even with a different name :dontknow:

I would have to refrain entirely from talking about

i) Cake/gym OCD ('Mum worry/Gym worry')

ii) Anything weird regarding #Granola4Riku ifyouknowwhatimean :/

iii) Any of the feminism threads

iv) Anywhere in Relationships [like I say, plan to see Relate in 2015; I put as a NYR 'therapy for Red Pill']

v) Possibly any ruminative question e.g. on self-improvement

So basically just Hobbies and Interests and clean conversation  which, would probably not be a bad idea given how intense I get regarding the other matters…

Oh and maybe H+R. But yes I would need to be careful.

So basically I'm screwed aren't I?

Not sure what #Granola4Riku refers to :ninja:

No H&R would be my advice. At all. Under any circumstances

Glad you did clarify that, since it did immediately sound like a slight against Anon#2 :sadnod:

:hugs:

Oh I forgot MHSS is part of H&R. MHSS is fine, but I would strongly urge you to avoid the rest of the forum :sadnod:
so I told my friend about him saying I've become 'weaker', it getting to me etc. and he basically changed the subject saying 'in more pleasant news my present from you has arrived'. This suggests that the consistent problem is as simple as that he finds me too depressing to talk to sometimes? Or that he refuses to indulge what is (I am oblivious to being) depressive thoughts.

I find it interesting that I can partly enjoy life yet still be in a state of anxiety-induced anhedonia/apathy with low self-esteem-which is apparently textbook mild depression.

Does any of this seem right TLG?

I'm not sure why your friend changed the subject. Some people just don't know how to talk to depressed people, or how to deal with someone close to them exhibiting signs/expressions of mental ill health  But you shouldn't necessarily read anything into it unless he does this often/all the time :nah:

it's a common thing. Excerpt from a post I was going to make

Mum says not everyone gets it, Dad says ignore him. Dad's also annoyed that I am not ignoring him because it's like I'm feeding the thoughts.

I don't know much about Asperger's but I think I'm right in saying that people with Asperger's struggle to emotionally connect to people. So perhaps he doesn't mean to be blasé about your problems but it's just difficult for him to understand what the problem is and why you can't move forward? :dontknow:

I'm off out now to see some friends - stay away from the Relationships forum, hun! But do stay in here if you can :hugs:

It's possible. He admits to that and working on it. Strange he can connect with other people from a distance, though…

No problem, should be trying to get off this myself  have fun!
Any chance we could quit the arguing now please guys? Hope people are ok :hugs:
