The expansion would produce lots of terms in x, y and z but setting x=y=z=1...

Why not use Google translate or some other translator by the way?

i would use the multinomial formula

If the first one is asking you to find the sum of the coefficients in the expansion of ... then the multinomial formula is not required. Simply set x=y=z=1.

I have not tried to decipher your second question.
