I've applied to Oxford and I'll be taking the Elat exam on 5th November. I'd just like to know...is there a word limit for the exam? A minimum number of words needed? All of my practice essays come up to 1000-1100 words, is that too much?

The recommended length is between 750-1,000 words. There is no word limit, but it is better to be concise than ramble.

Thanks! That's great news, because I'd read somewhere that it was around 1000 and was trying so hard to extend my answers.
