about unit grade scheme

hi, im doin travel and tourism 2 year course and for a course i did last year i got a referred grade and i only just got told this and iv just started the second year of the course. i was wondering if i get merits and distinctions on the rest of the units that my overall grade would be a merit or is it counted as your lowest grade? also would it be too late to re-do the coursework which should have been givin on last year.

please reply asap

thanks in advance
its points total for all units together

its up to teachers if they mark late work BTW y should they
Each unit completed is worth a set number of points. For internal units that's 2 points for a pass, 4 for a merit, 6 for a distinction. For external units that's 4 for a pass, 8 for a merit, 12 for a distinction.

In order to get an overal merit you need around 68-76 points. So if you took last years unit grades and then add them to what you aim to achieve this year you should get a rough idea of whether you could get the grade you want.

If that made any sense :s-smilie:
