There is a contradiction. I've seen plenty of people who bang on about Rotherham and say it is related to Pakistani culture. Yet I don't see many saying that other child sex abuse scandals are a product of British culture.
I grew up near Medomsley. It is a considerably less fashionable child sexual abuse case and caused little outrage, yet is believed to have had about 500 victims. My parents tell me that was widely known for years in the local community what went on. Unfortunately the English attitude of keep calm and carry on prevailed, making many adults complicit in child abuse.
