IP Law - copyright

Hi,

I have this copyright essay to do and I am finding it hard to understand a part of the quote. Can someone please explain it to me:… basically, copyright law has put "unrealistic limits on our listening and viewing habits".

I'm fine with the "listening habits" but I don't understand how copyright has affected our "viewing habits", unless its about online infringement?

Any help please?
