Gap Year spending

I have recently been trying to figure out how much I'd need to save up for my gap year, but I was wondering how much, approximately, any of you have spent in yours? I'd honestly rather have a few hundred spare, than need more than I have.

Hey!

Just dropping in on this conversation. I went away for 4 months - I was recommended to take away about £1000 a month and to be fair, it was a good bit of advice. It obviously depends where you go. If you go to South East Asia, then you will be spending alot less than you think! But if you're going somewhere like Australia, you will probably need to save more! :biggrin:
