Grade Advice for Higher Education

I need your advice and opinions.

I am a year 12 student currently studying AS Biology, Chemistry, MEI Mathematics and Spanish. My ambition is to go into Medicine however, we all know that everyone, realistically, requires a back-up plan. Hence, I came to the conclusion that as my 5th choice on my UCAS application, I would apply for either Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering. What I am currently worried about are my GCSE results. In no way are they bad although these can never be too good when we are talking about Medicine. My 'potential' 4 medical schools would be:
- University of Birmingham
- University of Bristol
- Newcastle University
- University of Exeter

If my 5th choice will be Biochemistry:
- University of Oxford
- University College London

If Chemical Engineering:
- University of Manchester
- University of Birmingham

My GCSE grades are as follow:
- English: B (it is my second language but I am re-taking it to get at least an A)
- Mathematics: A
- Core Science: A
- Additional Science: A
- History: A
- Spanish: A*
- Computing: A
- Polish: A*
- Physical Education: A

I may seem very (maybe over) ambitious however, I would appreciate your input on this topic.

Thank You
