Hi! I'm applying to LCA for Fine art too! Have you applied or been asked for an interview?

It's bit early. You have time to work on your portfolio before February. Nothing really happens before then.

I'm applying to Falmouth, Bath Spa, UWE, Reading and Cardiff for Fine Art! I sent off my application last week and so far Falmouth have asked me to set up an online portfolio to decide whether they want to give me an interview or not, I have interview dates with Cardiff and UWE and still waiting to hear from Bath & Reading!

I'm hopefully applying to Glasgow, Goldsmiths, Kingston, Brighton and possibly chelsea - UAL. I've only recently decided I' m applying for fine art rather than textiles so i haven't had an opportunity to visit all of these places, was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about what they're like? what kind of support you can expect to receive from tutors etc

I really like Falmouth (the town and the uni) but it's too far for me to travel. I live on the East, so its the other side of the country.

Good Luck!
Falmouth is my top choice! I sent off my online portfolio 11 days ago, I'm just worried its not good enough?!
I'm applying to study Fine Art without a foundation year - eek! I have my first interview in a few days (and it's also the university I want to study at... just my luck for my first interview to be the most important!) and I'm so scared, ah! :frown:

My fine art tutor told me to ask to push back the online portfolio date. I'm doing a foundation course and only recently did I deicide to specialise in fine art so I haven't got a ton of work yet, but I've done some over christmas so when I go back next week I think he's going to help me pick what work to show them and I'll send it off! I'm worried too, Falmouth is my first choice and I know how competitive it is down there! All the best with your application!

Yeah tell me about it, it's 220 miles away from where I live, took me 8 hours to get there for the open day! It should have been 6 but there were train delays, but I fell in love with the place, that's not to say I think I'll get in but that's what I'm aiming for. If i actually got it I would cry haha, but Bath Spa is my second choice and it's lovely up there too and it's only an hour away from where I live!

Thank you!

That's the reason we're not applying until next week. To sort out the mini folio

When did you go for your open day? I went on the 25th of October and I travelled there the day before and it took about 8 hours because of train delays as well. We could had been in the same train!

If you have a strong porfolio and passion for the subject it will shine through. Don't worry about it

Good Luck!
Hi all, i'm applying to fine art too! I've applied to Plymouth, UWE, Bath Spa and Oxford Brookes, my first choice probably being UWE. I've already got a place at Plymouth, got my UWE interview on Wednesday and my Bath Spa one on the 14th! I'm not doing a foundation year either as i'm looking at art therapy and didn't want to slow down the process (as it will take me quite a long time to qualify anyway!)

When did you send off your application and when did you hear from Bath? Bath is my second choice and I still haven't heard anything from them, not even an e-mail saying they've got my application, and I sent it off mid-december :frown:

I sent off my application in on the 11th of november, don't worry they took AGES to reply to even say they'd received it! I was worrying so much!!! They seem just a bit slack, they invited me to an interview on the 23rd of december so it took a while!

Oh that's a bit of relief! My fine art tutor on the foundation course I'm doing now does part-time up there so I'm hoping it'll boost my chances a bit since he done my reference ahah! :colondollar:
