Good A-levels but really bad GCSEs

Hey guys,

I'm currently taking a gap year and I'm planning to apply to university this year. I did my A-levels in Maths, Further Maths and Economics and achieved A*A*A respectively.

However, my GCSEs are absolutely terrible (1B and 4Cs). You're probably wondering why I didn't do so well in my GCSEs given my A-level grades. The fact of the matter is I just didn't do any revision whatsoever for my GCSEs.

Given that my GCSEs are awful but my A-levels are good, what are my chances of getting in to one of the top 10 universities for Economics (e.g. LSE, Warwick, UCL, Bristol, Nottingham etc.)?

Don't sugarcoat it guys, let me know so I can know where to apply.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, even criticism!

I think universities would be sympathetic if you had any extenuating reasons but it seems that you don't.

I think it would be better to look for universities that place less value on GCSEs. You could also contact UCL/etc directly and see what they say!
