Simple way to figure out if you should do M1 or D1.

Here is an equation.

x^2 +15x - 126

If your first thought is "I should factorize this!", do M1.
If your first thought is "I should use the Quadratic Formula on my Calculator!", do D1

what if you thought " yep, it's Trial and Improvement again " ??

If you can't do physics then I'd say D1. If you can rote learn and learn algorithms then you're through with D1. The disadvantage is it's pretty difficult to score very high on D1 since you've got a lot of arithmetic, so the chances of getting a careless mistake is so high. M1 will help your physics too ; if you're repeating physics AS then I'd say go for M1. If you hate physics then D1.

I'm not doing physics, or repeating it either, so I've decided to do D1 and work my very best  Thankyou so much for helping out!

I haven't bothered reading the other replies but DEFINITELY DO M1. It is without a doubt better than D1. D1 is my most hated module ever, it f*cked my UMS up, and was the most boring sh*tty module ever. Never pick decision maths if you have the chance. I'd pick English language ahead of it, thats how bad it is.

I love D1

I did M1 without physics, or any physics aptitude and it was fine - D1 on the other hand was horrendous. You think it's easy up until the exam which is always impossible.

If it's not too late, do M1!!

Then you're lucky, most people at my school got screwed over by d1. I dropped 12 of my overall 15 marks dropped just in the d1 exam

Then again I do love computer programming so that might be a factor
