Hiya, I'm applying for Business Management and Accounting and Finance to start in 2015, so i'd be based on the City Site.
Would you be able to recommend any accommodation that has good social aspects but you can also get some quiet time when needed haha! - I viewed Gill Street on the open day and the residents said its quite a quiet place to stay?
I quite like the Byron residence.. do you have any info on these halls?

Hi Danielle,
I guess its just a balance between both. To be fair you can have this wherever you stay depending on you. Gill street North is a really good accommodation and very close to the city site where you will be based. http://www.ntu.ac.uk/study_with_us/accommodation/index.html
What would you describe as a suitable option, regarding accommodation that is close to the student's union and the city centre? Also which halls would you describe as the most sociable?

Hi amslol,
Have you looked at Sandby, Gill street North and Gill Street south? They are close to the university, students union and the city centre. I believe all NTU halls are sociable and regardless of which one you choose you are likely to have a good university experience. Make sure you look into all options, some of the popular halls fill up quickly, so do your research so you know what your choice would be if your first/second/third choice were full.
Go on our accommodation website to find out more about accommodation available http://www.ntu.ac.uk/study_with_us/accommodation/index.html also you can call +44 (0) 115 848 2894 to speak to an adviser who can discuss the options available to you.
Are you allowed to recommend private halls? Nottingham Trent accommodation, the ones I like are out of my budget and was wondering if you could give me some information on places such as Russell View and Mansion accommodations etc!

Hi Sezena,
If you are interested in private halls, you will have to do your research.
Hi, I've accepted NTU as both my firm, and insurance choice, I'm just wondering could you help me with my decision regarding which accommodation I should choose? I attended an open day, and tried to gather as much information as I could, but living abroad makes it more difficult to make the right decision. I'm torn between Sandby and Norton Court. While I like them both, I was told Norton Court is more social-able, however, others have said Sandby is equally sociable. Could you please advise me? This university stuff is more challenging that it looks Thanks a million.

I would recommend from what I've seen sandby, as it is flats shared with 11-13 people I believe so how is it never going to be sociable? It seems you will always have someone to talk to! Plus it's right in the city too!
Try asking on this link too there's more post that cover private accommodation too!
Thanks for replying! I think you may be right, plus it's near Byron, Gill Street and Hampden; so it feels like a community. Plus, the convenience of just being in walking distance to, well, everything is a really nice addition.
hi, i'm going to be starting my first year at nottingham trent this September. I was wondering what accomodation is best for freshers. I am currently interested in Gill Street South, Byron and Goldsmith Court
I think so, from what I've heard certain rooms appear to be already book for unconditional holders. When in fact, they're actually just in reserve. I'd hope so anyway, because I'd rather not live in a box on the campus steps

Hi Flavialabinotti,
All NTU halls of residents usually tend to be live! There will be fresher reps who'll help you make friends and start enjoying University as soon as you arrive. You'll also have wardens and residence assistants on hand throughout the year. I must say you've got a good selection of choices already.
However, some of the popular halls fill up quickly, so do your research so you know what your choice would be if your first/second/third choice were full.
If you put nottingham Trent as your insurance are you still able to book accommodation?
Hi Lucyoliviab,
Due to the high number of applicants we receive only applicants who have accepted us as their first choice of university (firm choice) can apply for accommodation. If NTU is your insurance choice and your offer is confirmed after your results are declared, the accommodation team will contact you to arrange suitable accommodation.
