Fundraising ideas for Sixth Form Students?

I'm looking for some help with fundraising ideas to raise money for my sixth form . We've had the idea of a fancy dress day but nobody bothers because they'll look stupid or whatever and whenever we have cake sales for charity people always forget to bring money.
Any ideas would be appreciated

-You could do a fete or something afterschool or on a weekend? (would be more effective if you're at a combined sixth form/secondary school). Sell cakes, run games, the works. Like a slightly early christmas fete.

-Cake sales are good, just advertise it for quite a while beforehand so people know what's going on and remember their money, and sell for a few days. Maybe make an event out of it? e.g. Competition to make the best themed cakes: winner gets a small prize, then the cakes are sliced up and sold as part of a 'fundraising bake sale'. Getting people involved makes them more likely to buy it, plus you don't have to do the baking yourselves.

-Start running a weekly tuck shop (if your school doesn't already have one)

-If you have a theatre/performing space and people who are willing to volunteer to perform, you could run a lunchtime/afterschool show/gig that people pay to watch
