Stuck on Displayed Formulae

hi, im a bit confused over the displayed formula of 2,4-dimethylpentan-2-ol. All I know is that it has the formula C7 H15 OH.
I'm doing the Nuffield course and have been given no notes on this at all and the textbook isn't very helpful so im stuck. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you :smile:

quite simple first draw 5 carbon atoms (hence the pent) between carbons 2 and 3 there is a hydroxyl or alcohol group (OH) DI methyl means two CH3 groups are attached 2 , 4 means one methly (CH3) is attached to the second carbon and one CH3 (methyl) is attached to the fourth carbon. hope you get the idea. i will attach a word file in which i'll draw it out but try it with the explanation ive given first
